Our class has begun! Taught by Baba Ray Davis and assisted by MIT Zerita Sharp. Click here for the course outline. The class meets every Sunday at 9:00 am sharp.
Let me be among the first to say "bravo" and "well done" to brother, Jahi Awakoaiye for creating this excellent Web-link to New Life Seminary classes! It will provide extraordinary exposure to our educational and spiritual development efforts as well as a wonderful opportunity for discussion/learning outside of class. I encourage everyone far and wide to take full advantage of this excellent resource.
As you do so, it is probably worthwhile to know that the classnotes posted are those of a participant who has been good enough to share them with you. They should provide a basis for further thinking, discussion and debate -- to which I hope each of you will contribute.
If you look at the mdw you photographed from the "Tale of the Eloquent Peasant," you will see the glyphs for "rmt" (mouth+loaf+ seated man and woman determinatives). They appear in the shaded rectangle. Ignor the three last glyphs. Furthermore, just a couple lines below will appear the glyphs for "kmt" (crocodile skin+loaf+crossroads sign). Remember, this is a Middle Kingdom text, so it should not be surprising to find "rmt" written with a loaf instead of the "tether" (tj). As you know, the same word can also be written as "rmtj" which is now considered to the standard variant. Now you never have to say "Kemites" ever again! Don't forget to click on the text for a larger view.
